FinalPhaseSiteCheck

The website checker run by Final Phase.

What it does

It checks whether a local business's public website belongs to that business, by looking for the business's own name together with its phone number or street address on the page. It looks only at websites that public business listings or the business's own email address point to. It never guesses addresses.

What it reads

Only the home page and at most one contact or about page of a site. It reads robots.txt first and obeys it. It sends at most one request per second to a site, with a 10 second time limit. It does not fill in forms, log in, or follow other links.

What it keeps

The pages' addresses, the response status, and a short excerpt (a few lines) showing the match. It does not keep copies of pages.

How to block it

Add this to the robots.txt file of your site. It takes effect on the checker's next visit, and blocking it has no other consequence.
